A FUSION OF TRADITION AND MODERNITY
From Galileo’s first observations to the first step on the moon, our collection has clearly been influenced by past centuries. In this way, the fusion of elements from yesteryear with modern craftsmanship captures and reinforces the link between respect for tradition, authenticity, innovation and the values of the Gentlemaan house.
Powered by an innovative technique that harmoniously blends vintage and contemporary styles, the symbols and details integrated into the heart of the watch deliver unique messages referring to the work of Galileo, the brilliant 17th-century scientist and astronomer whose life was punctuated by daring and perseverance.
As a worthy heir, she embodies the visionary thinking of those who knew how to see the invisible and transform the unknown.
An inspiring story and a strength of character that can be read on our dials…
EXPLORE THE INFINITE,
UNLEASH YOUR POTENTIAL
At the age of 19, Galileo discovered the law of isochronism of motion by observing the regular oscillations of the chandeliers in Pisa Cathedral. Although he concentrated on astronomy for most of his life, in his old age he devised a plan for a clock, which he was unable to complete before his death in 1642. It wasn't until 1657 that Christiaan Huygens and Salomon Coster built the first pendulum clock based on the Tuscan scientist's work, revolutionizing time measurement by reducing the margin of error from several minutes to a few seconds a day.
Galileo revolutionized science with several inventions, including the telescope in 1609, which he used to observe the phases of the moon, thus initiating our modern exploration of the universe... Gentlemaan invites you to look up and admire the Milky Way... Let your thoughts wander among the stars, where dreams and the great aspirations of life are born. This watch, much more than a simple time-measuring device, is the symbol of an infinite quest: to pursue one's dreams without ever giving up.
Contemplating the immensity of the stars, Galileo perceived a universe that defied the beliefs of his time, and his theories earned him censure and condemnation. It was not until a century later that James Bradley proved that the Earth does indeed revolve around the Sun... The greatest feats are often born of unsuspected audacity, of a vision that transgresses codes. Gentlemaan embodies this same pioneering spirit and expresses it in this collection, designed for those who, ahead of their time, don't hesitate to push back the limits, defy convention and follow their own path.
