The case and all metal parts of the watch are manufactured with surgical grade stainless steel, strong and corrosion resistant. The glossy effect and satin-finish surfaces are the result of precision polishing, the brilliance of which will last for years to come.
Tempered glass with curved dome carefully hand-polished by our watchmakers, giving it its transparency and low light reflection for better readability. The glass receives a double heat, thermal and chemical, in order to give it a better resistance to scratches and daily impacts.
High-quality calfskin leather strap with alligator embossing, carefully stitched and varnished by hand. Comfortable to wear, supple, noble and refined, it brings a feeling of lightness to the wrist and harmonises the timepiece with elegance and distinction.
The balance-spring regulates the passage of time through its oscillations and is responsible for the precision of the watch. An oscillation is made up of two alternations: the anchor gives the impulse to the balance wheel, which performs a rotation: this is the TIC. During this rotation, the balance spring compresses, thus balancing the force sent. It then relaxes, sending the balance wheel back: this is the TAC. The energy thus regulated is transmitted to the hands by a chain of wheels.
Jewels are an important part of mechanical movements, guaranteeing their quality and durability. The internal mechanism of watches consists of a set of gears in constant motion. Positioned at key points, the jewels reduce friction between the parts and thus considerably reduce wear and tear on the components. As a result, the movements are more robust and require less maintenance.
In watchmaking, screws are blued using a controlled oxidation process. This process is the expression of traditional manufacturing techniques and the highest standards of finish. During a process of refining, chamfering and polishing, the screws are heated to a temperature of 290° until an intense, slightly pearly blue is obtained. As well as being aesthetically pleasing, blueing is an excellent treatment against corrosion.
As one of the main components of a watch mechanism, the various gears are subject to very strict finishing criteria in order to eliminate all traces of machining. The many operations required to guarantee the aesthetics and harmony of all the components, all of which depend on each other, demand exceptional precision work.
Mouldings and teeth are bevelled and polished, and all the parts are worked one by one by hand.
